How Can kidney Infection And Gallbladder Problems Be Treated?

Hello. My father is currently hospitalized with gallbladder issues and a kidney infection. He had a CT Scan and tests are being run to diagnose what may be wrong with his gallbladder and/or liver. In 2014 he was found to have stage 4 bladder cancer and after months of chemotherapy and finally a cystectomy he was announced in remission. He now urinates in a bag and lives with very weak kidneys. He was doing fine until he was suddenly hospitalized two weeks ago with a kidney infection and a fever. He was admitted to the hospital again today and I want to know what I should expect going forward.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

He might be having urinary tract infection.

Do a urine culture and start antibiotics according to the culture reports.

Nothing much to worry as he will improve with antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
